Gnosis

There is a hidden knowledge that has inspired all the great religions and spiritual traditions of the world. All the great ancient civilizations have understood and lived in accordance with this knowledge throughout human history. Egypt, Tibet, Greece, Sumeria, Europe, the Americas – all of them used this knowledge to reach the peak of their development.

This universal and perennial wisdom is called GNOSIS, from the Greek word γνώσις, meaning knowledge. Its purpose is to enable the human being to discover, through direct experience, the goal of existence and to fulfill it. Gnosis is a cosmic teaching, a spiritual path that aspires to restore within the human being the capacity to live in a conscious way, reach profound and everlasting happiness, and complete self-realization.

The Gnostic Institute of Anthropology, Samael and Litelantes is a not-for-profit organization, legally constituted as such.
It is dedicated not only to anthropological research, but also to rescue the cultural legacy and hidden wisdom of ancient civilizations. It has an international character and today it is spread all over the world.

It is based on the teachings given by V.M. Samael Aun Weor, a philosopher and anthropologist who wrote more than sixty works and gave hundreds of lectures with the purpose of giving superior knowledge to humanity, which he called Gnosis.
The central theme of this teaching is the human being: his possibilities, his concerns, his aims in relation to society, life, nature and the universe.
The one who yearns for the spiritual, after suffering and seeking wisdom everywhere, realises that there is only one path and that it lies within himself, in his own inner psychological space.
The awakened consciousness is the wonderful instrument which, beyond reason and intellect, allows us to know ourselves and to enter the unknown inner universe of ourselves.
For this reason, at the entrance to the Delphic oracle in the Temple of Apollo in ancient Greece, there was an inscription, which has now disappeared, that said:
Homo Nosce Te Ipsum is translated in English as “Man know thyself”.
